What are the admission requirements for the computer science middle school?
In order to be admitted to the IMS entrance examination, you must meet certain requirements. Among other things, you must have completed the third level of secondary education at A or B level, or have completed an equivalent level of education. And you must not be over 18 years of age before the IMS school start date (May 1).
Only once these factors have been fulfilled can you turn your attention to what is actually important and take the IT secondary school entrance exam in Aarau Register.

Important information about the Computer Science Middle School
- After successfully completing school, you will receive a federal vocational baccalaureate and a federal certificate of proficiency in information technology, specializing in application development (EFZ).
- You get access to studies at universities of applied sciences, at higher technical colleges or practical training
Duration of school: 4 years (3 years of classes + 1 year of internship)
School years: until 15. school year

- ZAP 3 (these are the same requirements as for the Fachmittelschule and the Berufsmittelschule)

Examination subjects and form
- 2025: German, French. English & Mathematics
- Form of examination: written
- Prerequisites: Entry from the 3rd grade (11th school year) of secondary education (level A or B) or after an equivalent education.
- Age Limit: Students who are 18 years of age prior to May 1 of the year of entry will not be eligible for the entrance exam.
Exam passed:
- If no grade below 4 was obtained from the three subject grades and...
- If the grade point average from the foreign language (English & French) subject grade and the subject grades result in a grade point average of at least 4.
